John Whitten

John Whitten is a visual artist, educator, and entrepreneur.

Work experience includes:

14 years exhibiting his artwork with national and international audiences.

9 years teaching digital software and media-focused courses at the university level.

4 years developing college-level course content for online remote learning.

Co-founding and managing 2 art galleries:

• Well Well Projects
• Carnation Contemporary

Co-founding the T h u n d e r s t r u c k artist collective.

9 years writing grants with 12 grants funded.

Recipient of many awards, fellowships, and residencies.

4 years working in arts administration.

Education includes:

Master's Degree from the University of Oregon.

Bachelor's Degree from Watkins College of Art.

Associate's Degree from Vincennes University.

John lives in Portland, Oregon with his fiancé and their cat.

His artwork is represented at Charles Hartman Fine Art in Portland, Oregon.

He is currently enrolled in Epicodus where he is learning software development.
